Enroll in Xcel Energy’s Optimize Your Charge program.

Enroll in the Optimize Your Charge program on the Xcel Energy website. During the application process, you'll pick an off-peak charging schedule that works best for your driving needs. Once Xcel Energy confirms your eligibility, you'll receive an email invitation to create a free account with evPulse.

    Connect your vehicle to evPulse.

    During sign up, you'll be asked to authorize your vehicle connection by signing in with your account credentials from your EV’s mobile app — the entire process takes less than a minute.

    How does optimized charging work?

    Once you’ve enrolled in the Xcel Energy Optimize Your Charge program and connected your car to your evPulse account, simply charge during your selected charging schedule.

    When you do more than 25% of your charging during your selected charging schedule, you'll earn a $50 credit on your Xcel Energy electricity bill each year. You can track your ongoing charging in your evPulse dashboard.

    What if I do not have an eligible Level 2 Charger?

    Through evPulse, you have the flexibility to participate in Optimize Your Charge with either a Level 1 Charger or a Level 2 Charger.

    If you would like to upgrade to Level 2 Charging, then Xcel Energy has multiple offerings to help.

    Can I participate if I am a commercial customer of Xcel Energy?

    In Minnesota, small and medium commercial customers can join Optimize Your Charge, but in New Mexico and Colorado, only residential customers can participate.
